    • Are all the products in stock?

        We aim to keep 90% of our products in stock at all times. Products in stock will have an Availability Status of ‘In Stock’.  All these products will be shipped on the same day if the order is placed before 12pm, or else on the next business day.

        There are occasions when we run out of stock or a product is unusual and requires a special order from our suppliers.  All these products will have an Availability Status of ‘Awaiting Stock’. Typically we can ship most of these products within 1-3 days of your order being placed. In the cases where we cannot ship the product within a few days we will notify you and endeavor to have the products delivered to you within 21 days of an order being placed.

    • How can I be assured of the quality of the products I will be buying?

        At Urban Jewel we only sell products from reputable suppliers. All our body jewelry complies with the material suitability standards for body piercing jewelry .

    • How can I look after the products I have bought?

        All jewelry bought from Urban Jewel should always be thoroughly cleaned before use. Our products are sold as unsterilized

        The safest way to clean the jewelry is with an Antibacterial Soap and Water.

        With the large variety of materials used in body jewelry, the traditional autoclave methods of cleaning are not always suitable. Alternative cleaning solutions which contain alcohol can also cause catastrophic results, such as cracking acrylic balls.

        We always recommend that any jewelry not made entirely from Surgical Steel should NOT be cleaned using an autoclave or alcoholic cleaning solutions.

        Failure to follows this recommendation could result in your jewelry item falling apart or discolouring

    • What are materials described by the products description?

        -  SS316L – Surgical Steel

        -  Black Steel – SS316L coated with Black PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition)

        -  Rose Gold – SS316L coated with Rose Gold PVD  (Physical Vapour Deposition)

        -  Zircon Steel - SS316L coated with Zircon Gold PVD  (Physical Vapour Deposition)

        -  Titanium 6AL-4V-ELI – Biocompatible Titanium compliant with the EU Nickel Directive

        -  Bioplast – Biocompatible Plastic

        -  Silver – 92.5 Sterling Silver, some of which are plated with rhodium to protect the silver

        -  PMMA - Acrylic with is either UV reactive or glow in the dark

        -  Pyrex Glass – Medical grade non-porous pyrex

        -  Silicone – Silicone 

         

    • Where can I see the colours of the products?

        Colours for the Swarovski Crystals, Titanium, Bioplast, Acrylic and Silicon can be found here

    • How do I know if I should sterilize the product I have bought?

  • Ordering

    • How do I place an order with Urban Jewel? 

        -  Browse the website and select the product you wish to purchase. Whilst viewing the product you are interested in, you will choose the options, if any for that product

        -  Once you have selected the options for the product, click the Add to Cart button, this will place the product in your shopping cart

        -  On the right hand side of your screen you will see your cart items change. You can continue shopping from here or choose to checkout.  You can proceed to the checkout by clicking on the Checkout button in the cart area on the right hand side of your screen

        -  If you are a new customer you will can either register or choose to buy as a guest. If you already have an account, you can log in and continue to checkout

        -  View your shopping cart to ensure you have all the products you want and that there are no mistakes with your options

        -  Validate your shipping address

        -  Select a shipping method

        -  Select a payment method and submit your payment

    • How do I change something with my order?

        Once your order has been submitted, you will need to contact us in order to make any changes to your order.

        We cannot make any changes to orders that have been shipped.

        If your order has not been shipped, but your payment has been received, we will happily substitute items, but we cannot make any refunds for the removal of items from an order. In this situation we will create a credit note in your account

         

    • How can I track my order?

        You can track your order through your Order History under your account section when you have logged into the site

         

  • Payments

    • How can I pay for my order?

        We accept EFT (Electronic Fund Transfers) and Credit Card payments only.

        Please email us a proof of payment to ensure the speedy delivery of your order

        Credit Card Payments

        When paying by credit card you will be redirected to our online credit card services provider (Netcash) where your payment can be made securely. You will need to be registered for 3D secure banking with your banking institution before any online payments can be made. Any transactions made between yourself and Urban Jewel will be reflected with the merchant name of Netcash.

        We do NOT keep any of your credit card details on our systems

        Any unpaid orders will be cancelled after 7 days

        - Optional insurance is available for an extra 5% of goods value.

        - All paid orders will be shipped before 1pm next business day.

        - Goods damaged, lost or stolen during transit will not be replaced or refunded unless the insurance option is selected and paid for.

    • Does Urban Jewel ship internationally?

        No – we do not ship any products internationally. We only ship to areas within South Africa

         

  • Returns and Exchanges

    • Can I return or exchange products bought from Urban Jewel?

        Please contact us prior to returning/exchanging any products, to ensure we will accept your return/exchange. We will in most cases accept your product as a return/exchange. 

        Please DO NOT ship prior to confirmation from us, because we will NOT accept any returns/exchanges that have not been confirmed as ok for return/exchange.

        Returns/exchanges will only be accepted if the product purchased is returned to us in the original packaging with an unbroken seal. If the seal has been broken we will NOT accept these products as returns/exchanges.

        All returns/exchanges that are shipped back to Urban Jewel are at your cost and must be shipped in a padded envelope. You will be responsible for the product during shipment, so it is advisable to use a shipping method with tracking.

        All returns/exchanges will either be exchanged or a credit note added to your account

    • Is online ordering secure with Urban Jewel?

        Yes, we have SSL enabled for all account information and the checkout process. This ensures your information is encrypted when it is sent over the internet.

    • What are the Terms of Use for Urban Jewel?

        Urban Jewel will not be held responsible for the improper application of its products. Any person who purchases products from Urban Jewel agrees not hold Urban Jewel responsible for any damages or injuries incurred from the use of our products. All jewelry and small parts which make up a piece of jewelry should be kept out reach of children.

        All our jewelry is sold unsterilized and must be cleaned prior to use (please see the How do I know if I should sterilize the product I have bought? section)
